John J. Falvo

John J. Falvo, 97, Carbondale, passed away Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale.  His wife, the late Frances (Trichilo) Falvo died in 2019.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Carlo and Grace (Bonacci) Falvo, he was a United States Army Veteran and parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. John was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who also enjoyed bowling, golfing, and hunting.

Survivors include, a brother, Victor Falvo and his wife Delores; a sister, Helen Muro; 2 sisters-in-law, Rosemary (Trichilo) Purvis and Mary (Spizzirri) Falvo; a brother-in-law, Robert Trichilo and his wife Kathi; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Carmine, Felix (Joe), and Anthony Falvo; infant brother, Carlo Falvo; and a sister, Frances Falbo.

The funeral will be Thursday, June 27, 2024, from the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale.  Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
