Grace Anne Earyes, 87, Carbondale, died Wednesday, February 10, at Lackawanna Health and Rehabilitation Center, Peckville. Her husband of 64 years is Andrew Edward Earyes.
 
Born in Mayfield, daughter of the late Joseph and Domacella Barkauskas Pittsman, she was a registered nurse for many years. Grace earned her R.N. Degree from Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing. Throughout her career, she held a number of nursing positions at various medical facilities including The Medical College of Georgia, Veterans Administration in Augusta, GA, The University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Fairview State Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Carbondale General Hospital and Marian Community Hospital. Grace also worked as a Home Health Care Consultant, Nursing Home Supervisor, and Rehabilitation Case Manager.
 
Grace enjoyed golf, softball, selling Avon and most of all, loved to swim regardless of the water temperature. She loved to travel to the casinos with her husband and enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren as they participated in sporting activities including cheerleading, football, tennis, running, dancing and soccer.
 
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kimberly K. Doherty (James), Wilmington, Delaware; two sons, Kevin A. Earyes (Deborah), Mayfield; Michael A. Earyes (Marne), West Chester; Pennsylvania, four grandchildren, Andrew and Alexis Doherty, Michael Jr. and Samuel Earyes; a sister, Kathryn Nixon (Gerard), West Chester, Pennsylvania, and several nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Frevold (William).
 
The funeral will be Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.. Masks and social distancing required at the Mass.
