May 22, 2021

Mary Villano Staschak, 91, of Carbondale, PA passed away peacefully on May 22, 2021 in the comfort of her daughter and son in law’s home.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be greatly missed by many.

She is predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Eugene Staschak and infant daughter Terry Ann.

She is survived by daughter, Michele Cambardella and husband, Bill; son, Eugene Staschak and wife Sara; grandson Michael Cambardella; granddaughter Cara Maria Anderson and husband Steve, and great granddaughter Mariana, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

The daughter of Thomas and Teresa DiMatteo Villano, she is survived by brother Tony Villano and wife Donna, brother Frank Villano and wife Audrey, and sister in law Lucille Villano.

She was predeceased by brother John Villano, brother Tom Villano, sister in law Jean Villano, sister Nancy Nadratowicz, brother in law John Nadratowicz, sister Anna Mae Leo, and brother in law Bob Leo.

Mary’s hospitality always made “company” feel welcome. She and the love of her life, Gene, consistently opened their hearts and home to family and friends throughout their lives. It was inevitable if you were in her company that you would enjoy a cup of coffee and a “goodie” over warm conversation. Mary was everyone’s “rock” and relatives and friends turned to her often. She had the capacity to walk with countless others as they faced the hardest challenges in their lives, often including illness, loss and death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 28 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, PA 18407. A viewing at the church will precede mass from 9:00 – 9:30 am. Masks and social distancing required. Interment will be at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of your choice.

Arrangements, Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 2 Hospital Street, Carbondale.
