Esther M. Sonnenberg, 67, of Scott Township, died Friday, at home.
She was the wife of Dieter Sonnenberg, her beloved husband, whom she loved so much throughout their 47&1/2 year marriage.
She was born in Trenton, NJ, daughter of the late Gertrude Farkas.
She and her husband moved from NJ to PA, in the mid 70’s, and moved into their new home in Scott Twp., in 1977.
Over the years, she worked at Sugarman’s Department Store and Kmart. She also worked for herself as a caregiver to elderly people for over 23 years, helping them in their homes, with any of their needs. She loved them all, and they all loved her, as well, for all that she had done for them.
She is survived by her husband, Dieter; her son, Curt, and his wife, Katrina, Olyphant; and daughter, Lisa, Greenfield Twp.; 3 grandchildren, including her loving, sweet, Lexis; and 1 great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Kathleen Kearns.
Very special thanks to Stephanie Clark, of Scott Twp., who was always by her side, as well as, Dr. Thomas Majernick and staff, for their kindness and care over the years.
All funeral services will be private, at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements by Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, under the direct supervision of Andrew A. Yurkanin, Jr., Funeral Director.
