Violet T. Turano, 99, Carbondale, died Wednesday at Carbondale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband was the late Thomas S. Turano.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa Neutts Norella, she worked as a seamstress in the garment industry.
She is survived by: a daughter-in-law, Sherri Turano, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas J. Turano; five brothers, Michael, Henry, Louis, Richard and Charles Norella; five sisters, Lena Guarneri, Amelia Scarpetta, Catherine Allegretti, Antoinette Norella and Rita Norella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
The family will receive family and friends at the church on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until Mass time.
