Andrew E. Earyes, 90, Carbondale, died Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at home after a valiant 30 year battle with four different types of cancer. His wife of 65 years was the late Grace A. Earyes.
Andy was the son of the late Mary Straszewski. He was self-employed in the trucking industry for 47 years. An Army veteran, he was very proud to have reached his 90th birthday in April. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and NY Yankees fan who throughout his life enjoyed worldwide travel with his wife; going to the casinos; working on cars and motorcycles with his son in his garage; hummingbird watching and gardening at home. The family extends their deep appreciation to Jill and Nancy Earyes for their unwavering love and dedication to Andy. They also send their gratitude to Traditional Home Health Hospice nurses and aides and Fox Chase Cancer Center, especially Dr. Anthony Olszanski.
Surviving are: a daughter, Kim K. Doherty and husband, James, Wilmington, DE.; two sons, Kevin A. Earyes and wife, Deborah, Mayfield; Michael A. Earyes and wife, Marne, West Chester; four grandchildren, Andrew and Alexis Doherty, and MJ and Sammy Earyes, and several close cousins and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in St. Rose of Lima Church. The family will receive friends in the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10 a.m. Entombment in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Military Honors will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the National Centre for Padre Pio , 111 Bartro Rd, Barto, PA 19504.
