Bonnie L. Abraham

November 14, 2024

Bonnie L. Abraham, 70, of Honesdale PA, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 14, 2024, at her home.

The youngest daughter of the late William Abraham and Shirley Richards Abraham, Bonnie was a unique blend of style, humor, and strength. She was a graduate of Lackawanna College, former secretary for Freedom Lodge #88, former head chairwoman of the Wayne County March of Dimes, and a member of the Eagles Association. She inherited her fashion sense from her mother and tenacity from her father. Bonnie had a twisted sense of humor that was sure to generate a laugh, knew more curse words than most truck drivers, and didn’t hesitate to offer up her opinion, even if you didn’t want it. She was a woman of many talents–a gifted musician and poet, a jewelry connoisseur, and a dancer with a passion for rhythm. Above all, she had a heart full of compassion, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, including every stray cat in the neighborhood. However, it was her granddaughters who were the light of Bonnie’s life. She cherished them beyond measure and they were her greatest sense of joy. Bonnie made time for them whenever possible, whether it was sharing a cup of coffee, picking them up from school, or enjoying a simple lunch together. Her love for them was immeasurable, and the memories they created together will live on in their hearts forever. Bonnie’s passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, but her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will never be forgotten.

She is survived by long-time companion Gary Wasman, Honesdale; three daughters, Stephanie Abraham Fallon and husband Donald, Greenfield Twp; Leslee Wilson Klinkiewicz and husband John, Honesdale; Jacqueline Katz Cozens and husband Chris, Newark; four grandchildren, Isabella Fallon, Caroline Klinkiewicz, Sydney Cozens, and Leah Klinkiewicz; a brother, Mark Abraham, Honesdale; three sisters, Shirley Abraham Posner, Gettysburg; Dr. Suzanne Abraham, NYC; Elizabeth Abraham Honesdale; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bonnie’s viewing, which will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with services in the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. by Reverend Dale Pepper.  Cremation will follow.  To offer an online condolence, visit the funeral home’s website.
