Louis F. Levite, 77, Carbondale, died Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Geisinger CMC, Scranton, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Carbondale on April 26, 1947, son of the late Frank and Antoinette (Lena) Gallo Levite, he was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale.  Louis was a 1965 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and Rifle Marksmanship Badge. He was a member of Marine Corps League and the American Legion Post 221, Carbondale. Prior to his retirement he was employed for over thirty years by Kennedy Beer Distributors and then with Banko North, Inc.

Surviving are his cousins: Joey Lawler, Attorney John Lawler, Patrick Lawler and his wife Teri, and several other cousins including Olivia and Sofia Lawler.

The funeral will be Wednesday, January 15, 2025, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Parish’s Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook St., Carbondale. Interment will follow in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township. The family will receive friends in the church from 9:00 a.m. until mass time.
