James Boland

James “Jim” Boland, 57, Greenfield Township, died Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at home.  His wife is Lori (Ross) Boland.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Gerald and Doris (Meyers) Boland, he was a 1985 graduate of Dunmore High School.  He was very proud of the time he spent working in law enforcement as a Corrections Officer and Deputy Sheriff.

In addition to his wife, Lori, his survivors include, 3 daughters, Jessica Morales and husband Angel, Colorado; Erica Boland and fiancé, Shayne Lee, Greenfield Township; Ashley Boland and partner Nick Aulich, Virginia; brother, John “Chick” Wahlers, Scranton; 2 sisters, Sharon Ptasinski and husband Edward “E.J.,” Dunmore; Kimberly Hunt and husband, John, Scranton; 4 grandchildren, Angel III and Abigail Morales, Julianna and Teagan Lee; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Gerald and Doris (Meyers) Boland, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Cindy Wahlers; mother-in-law, Julie Ross; and father-in-law, Stuart Ross.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a future date.
