Howard L. Otto, 81, Fleetville, passed away Thursday at home. His wife of 59 years is Constance Aylesworth Otto.

Born on December 12, 1943, in Montclair NJ, he was the son of the late Herbert R. and Elizabeth Matthews Otto. Howard and his six siblings were raised by his parents in Factoryville. He was a Christian of the Methodist faith. He was a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School and earned an associate’s degree from Lackawanna College. He served in the United States Navy from 1964 through 1968. Howard worked at Bellcom and multiple banks; then retired from Procter and Gamble. He was a life member of the Fleetville Fire Company with over 35 years of membership and served as Fire Police Captain for 15 years. He served on the Lackawanna Trail School Board of Directors and also served time as Benton Twp. Tax Collector and Auditor. He enjoyed spending time researching his family’s genealogy.

In addition to his loving and selfless wife, Constance, he is survived by: his children, Alan (Lori) Otto; Jason Otto; Lee Ann (Jason) Perez; grandchildren, Corey (Kaelee) Jones; Hope (Jared) Russell; Jacob Perez (Zoey); two great grandchildren, Grayson Russell; Haidyn Jones; one step grandson, Jonathan DeSpirito; two sisters, Carol Shotwell; Lynn Stonier. Howard was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Herbert Jr., Bruce, Barry and Bonny Otto.

No services or viewing will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fleetville Fire Company, PO Box 6, 58 Firehouse Lane, Fleetville PA 18420.
