Rosemarie A. Kielar, 88, Carbondale, died Wednesday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Her husband was the late Frank Kielar.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Serafine and Mary Brutto Pettinato, she enjoyed going to casinos; playing scratch off tickets and spending time with the same group of neighborhood ladies as they gathered for 45 years to play canasta. She worked at the Carbondale Nursing Home for a few years.

Surviving are: a son, Gary Kielar and wife, Carol, Pittsburgh; three daughters, Sharon VanLeuven and husband, Wayne, Carbondale; Mary Beck and husband, Glenn, Waymart; Michele Hadley, Carbondale; six grandchildren, Marissa Grosso and husband, Justin, Pittsburgh; Emily Kielar; Amy Anderson and husband, Gary; Jessica Hefty and husband, Nick; Tyler Beck and wife, Ronelle; Joseph Dombkowski and wife, Alyssa; five great grandchildren, Levon Anderson; Wyatt Anderson; Liam Beck; Vivian Grosso; Ava Kielar; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Gary Kielar Jr.

The funeral will be Saturday from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary’s St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.

A viewing will be held Friday from 4 pm until 6 pm at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the funeral home website. Those going to the funeral on Saturday should go directly to church.
