Frederick C. Gill, 71, Carbondale, died Monday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. His wife of 50 years, Kathryn J. Gill, preceded him in death 10 months ago.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Charles and Mary Hetzel Gill, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose children and grandchildren meant the world to him. He enjoyed golf, racing stock cars, working on cars, camping and was a Philadelphia Eagles’ fan. He enjoyed fixing things. Fred worked in production at Lockheed Martin prior to retirement.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart staff for its compassionate care.
Surviving are: a son, Kenneth Gill and significant other, Gabrielle Black, Peckville; a daughter, Tammy Connor, Carbondale and significant other, Robert Naro, Taylor; four grandchildren, Bryanna and Megan Gill, Eynon; Garrett and Gavin Connor, Carbondale; son-in-law, Jonathan Connor, Carbondale; sisters, Carol Cassaro and husband, Joe, Simpson; and Joyce Gill, Phoenix, Arizona; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, Frederick C. Gill Jr. and a brother, Glynn Gill.
A prayer service was held in Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St. Carbondale on Friday, March 23, 2018,
at 6:30 p.m.
by Rev. Barbara Snyder and Rev. Donald Perry. Interment will be at Canaan Corners, Waymart at a later date. A viewing was held Friday, March 23, 2018,
from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
