Edward W. Coleman, 88, of Carbondale, died Wednesday at home. His wife is the former Phyllis Cicco.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Booths) Coleman, he was a veteran of the United States Army as well as a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Ed enjoyed his train and car collection, as well as hunting.
Also surviving are a son, Edward Coleman and wife, Judy; a daughter, Maribeth Ciprian and husband, Charles; grandchildren, Edward Coleman and wife, Amanda; Christopher Coleman and wife, Jamie; Eric, Gino and Michael Ciprian; two great-grandchildren, Mia and Liam Coleman; a sister, Veronica and husband, Dr. Harry Preuss; sisters-in-law, Marie Cicco, Celestine Cicco, Jean Cicco and Mary Cicco Kuper; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Coleman; and nephew, Thomas Coleman.
The funeral will be Friday with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
Viewing will be Friday, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale.
Due to current public health recommendations, masks will be required and social distancing will be observed at both the funeral home and church.
