It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that our family mourns the passing of a loving brother, husband, father and grandfather. Dario Cadena passed away in his home on the day of March 4th. He left this world with the love and comfort of his wife and children beside him. Dario was born in Three Rivers, Texas and spent his childhood growing up in Needville, Texas with his 7 brothers and sisters. Dario enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1957-1964. He was also a proud Navy Veteran, serving the U.S. Navy from 1965-1979. Dario retired after 20 additional years of civil service. In those years Dario received the Air Force Good Conduct Award, the Air Force Longevity Award, 3 Navy Good Conduct Awards, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Dario spent a lot of his life with his family in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He loved fishing, wood working in his garage, and the Dallas Cowboys. We will always remember his great spirit and warm heart. Dario was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rosa Valerio Cadena and Pascual Cadena, his brother Carlos, his sister Bertha, and his sister Catarina. Though, he will forever live on in the memory and hearts of his brothers, Pascual and Juan; his sisters, Amalia and Anita; his wife, Cynthia Alley Cadena; his three children and their spouses, Chris Cadena and Scarlett Cadena, Kimberly Cadena Schwaner and Patrick Schwaner, and Tracy Cadena-Ogden and Mike Ogden; his wife’s son Gary Hemme; his eight grandchildren, Tyler Cadena, Breanna Schwaner, Nash Ogden, Olivia Schwaner, Kennedy Ogden, Delaney Ogden, Chris Childress, and Stephanie Goldsmith; as well as his wife’s two grandchildren Avery Hemme and Connor Hemme. His memory will be cherished, and he will be missed.
A service with full military honors will be held at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia on April 15th 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by Lawrence A.
