Russell Parry Russell Parry, 76, Mayfield, passed away Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. His wife of 56 years is Esther (Fife) Parry. Born in Carbondale, son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Mae (Schwartztrauber) Parry, he was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. Russell was a former Lakeland School Director, former President of the Lakeland Band Parents’ Association, and former member of Meredith Hose Company. He was a sports enthusiast. A long-time sports official and umpire, Russell was an avid New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved his family and will be deeply missed. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Geisinger CMC Intensive Care Unit and 4th Floor for their compassionate care. In addition to his wife, survivors include 2 nieces, Marisa Fife and Mechelle Hendricks; a son-in-law, John Petrosky; several other nieces and nephews; and his 2 cherished dogs, Ayden and Fergus. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Sara Marie Parry; 4 brothers, Karl, David, James, and Robert Parry Jr.; 3 sisters, Lois Pechusick, Janet Parry, and Diane Pope; a brother-in-law, Richie Fife.
