Ronald L. “Bubs” Terranella, 59, Carbondale, died Sunday at Allied Hospice, Scranton.
Born in Greenwich Connecticut, son of Isadora Sheare Terranella White (Olyphant) and the late Thomas Terranella, he was a clothing manager, worked in construction and was a boxing trainer. After a 30 foot fall years ago, Ron was given a minimal chance of walking again, but overcame seemingly insurmountable odds to walk again. Despite his challenges, he was always willing to lend a helping hand including caretaking assistance for his mom, his dad and a friend, Joseph Walsh (Olyphant). He became well-read and knowledgeable in health nutrition.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by five brothers, David Terranella, NY; Douglas Terranella, Blakely; Daniel White, NC; James White, Scott Twp.; Elwin White, Scranton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Terranella.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 pm until 7 pm at Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale. Masks and social distancing are required. Please limit conversation so those in attendance may express condolences in a timely manner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church.
