February 12, 2022
Harrison W. Carpenter, 36, of Carbondale, died Saturday.
Born in Carbondale on Feb. 25, 1985, son of Harrison and Marlene McHugh Carpenter, he was self-employed. He loved to dance, to joke around, and to challenge people in pool and come out on top. He was a sponsor and captain of a girls softball team in the annual Big Ball Tournament. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. One of the kindest people you will ever come across, he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved his pumpkin stand. He always had a smile and had a goofy laugh.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Bradlee Carpenter; brothers, Todd Carpenter and fiancée, Sheila Mosher; Matthew Carpenter and wife, Desirae; Andrew Carpenter and wife, Dakota; paternal grandmother, Ruth Curnow and husband, Harry; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Martin Carpenter; maternal grandparents, William and Cora McHugh; and a niece, Mercedes Carpenter.
On Friday, a viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. in Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale. The Rev. Don Perry will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Online condolences may be sent to the funeral home website.
A benefit will be held on Friday, Feb. 25, from 3 p.m. until closing at the Peanut Bar.
