Patricia A. Horan, 87, Carbondale died Wednesday at Carbondale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, with her children by her side. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Horan Sr.
 
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Maurice and Helen Barrett Barnes, she was a proud mother and housewife who was employed at Ames for a number of years. She enjoyed spending one-on-one time with her children and was the heartbeat of the family. She was an avid sports fan who followed the Yankees, Duke and Notre Dame.
 
She is survived by; two sons, Thomas Horan Jr. and wife, Kathy, Scott Township; Timothy Horan and wife, Jen, Atlanta GA; four daughters, Kathleen Bankes and husband, Dave, Exeter; Joellen Conigliaro and husband, Sam, Carbondale; Beth Ann Matous and husband, Rick, Scott Twp.; Suzanne Prebosnyak and partner Vin Das, Whitehall; 12 grandchildren, John Baldino, Shauna Baldino-Turlip , Kelsey Tyson, TJ Horan, Joy Conigliaro- Connell, Nicholas Conigliaro, Mason Matous, Lex Prebosnyak, Reese Prebosnyak, Alex Viola Horan; Jaeden Horan and Dempsey Horan; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Barnes, Hawley; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Danny and a daughter, Patricia; a brother, Glen Barnes and sister, Marge Spedding.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St. Carbondale. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 am until Mass time. Masks required. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp..
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen, 500 Penn Avenue, Scranton Pa. 18503.
