Edison A Demming

March 17, 2023

Edison A Demming, Lake Winola, passed away March 17, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 20, 1940 in Montdale to the late Edison O and Marion Cook Demming. He was married for 34 years to the love of his life, Gayle Jordan Demming.

Edison was a proud Navy veteran, serving on the USS Protector. He was a retired journeyman welder and  sprinklerfitter and a 57 year member of Local 669 Sprinklerfitters Union. He was also retired from the Lackawanna State Park where he worked as a maintenance supervisor.

He enjoyed playing golf, a sport he took up at the age of 74, playing guitar and singing, especially bluegrass. He was horribly opinionated,  not always right but never wrong, and immensely loved by his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four adoring children, Kimberly (Ed) Olson, Exeter, Lori (Ron) Bergen, Scranton, Edison (Denise) Demming, Satsuma FL, and Scott (Laurel) Demming, Sherwood OR; Three beloved step-daughters, Vicki (Joe) Frisino, Clark’s Summit, Valerie (Victor) Mallory, Dalton, and Vanessa (Jason) Polovitch, Nicholson; Twelve grandchildren: Melissa (Brian) Stone-Falzone, Shawn (Fiancee Kaylene Kennedy) Stone, Mel McHenry, Maddie (Tyler) Sills, Jake Demming, Zack (Amy) Frisino, Alyssa (Matt) Vacendak, Victor Mallory, Cameron Crock, Connor Crock, Zachary Polovitch, and Adam Polovitch; Great Granddaughter: Isabella Falzone;  Siblings Keith (Marian) Demming, Pam (Willard) Ziesemer, Karen (Mark) Baldan, and Kathy Demming; and many nieces and nephews who he adored.

In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by two nephews, Dale Ziesmer and Jonathan Kolosinsky, and a sister-in-law Carolyn Matala.

His family would like to thank Allied Hospice for their kindness and compassion. And our undying love and gratitude to Alyssa Vacendak and Cameron Crock for their extraordinary assistance with his care.

Edison requested to be cremated and he will be interred at a private committal ceremony at the East Benton Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing hours.
