Thomas J. Gatto, 90, of Archbald, died Monday at home. His wife was the late Arlene Marcavage Gatto.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Gaetano “Thomas” and Mary Molinaro Gatto, he worked in the warehouse and distribution industry. Tom was a loving and devoted husband, father and “Papa.” His family meant everything to him.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Gatto, Archbald; four sons, James E. Gatto, Archbald; Thomas J. Gatto, Florida; Anthony M. Gatto, New Jersey; Vincent T. Gatto and wife, Sharon, New Jersey; grandchildren, Alexander Thomas Barowski, Archbald; Rachel Gatto, Florida; Thomas J. Gatto Jr., Florida; Anthony M. Gatto Jr., Alison Rose Gatto, Matthew Gatto, Nicholas Gatto and Michael Gatto, all of New Jersey; a sister, Carmelita Potash and husband, Robert, Connecticut; many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Nunzio, Samuel, Joseph, Louis and James Gatto; sisters, Ann Gatto, Rita Elias, Sadie Gravine, Sarafina Gatto and Marie Jackson; and his daughter-in-law, Rosemary Gatto.

The funeral will be Friday from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
