Justin J. “Pokey” Poklemba, 32, Carbondale, died Monday at Geisinger Community Medical Center from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Sept. 9.

Born in Throop, the son of Andrew and Darlene Dellia Poklemba, he enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with his kids, going to the movies with them and shopping with them.

The family extends sincere gratitude to the staff at Geisinger CMC ICU, the trauma doctors and ICU nurses, especially Katie, Alyssa, Rachel and Danielle.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Jayden Poklemba, Lake Ariel; a daughter, Gabriella Poklemba, Lake Ariel; a sister, Adrianne Poklemba, Carbondale; maternal grandmother, Clara Montone, Carbondale; a nephew, Carter Cisneros; brother-in-law, Bob Cisneros; aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Peter Barrett; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Rose Poklemba.

On Friday, friends may call at Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale. The viewing will be 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a blessing service at 6:45 p.m. Cremation will follow.
